You are a daughter

You are a daughter

Yes, I am.

You are a “daughter”

Yes, yes, of course I am.

Your breasts are growing

Hide them!

 Oh! You just menstruated

Go and hibernate

Next time you menstruate

Suppress yourself

Isolate yourself

This is the pregnancy license.

You forgot, you are a daughter?

Desire? you should not

They are dreadful

Suppress them

Or you will ruin yourself

Inside this cult

You should live and die

Or you will be discarded.

They are here to see you

Behave yourself.

Your term here ends

You are transferring from here

Accept it.

Make them happy

That is your fate.

You are a daughter, accept it.

You are a daughter, accept it.

May be I came up with this poem for fighting against the patriarchal hegemony that I have created over myself and I want to break it, come out of it — emerge out of it… seek myself…seek independence and live life to the fullest.
